　　Monday 2nd November 2015 is the 200th anniversary of the birth of George Boole, first Professor of Mathematics at University College Cork. The bicentenary year will be celebrated with a series of events, conferences and exhibitions in our George Boole 200 programme.

　　2015年11月2日是爱尔兰国立科克大学数学系第一位教授乔治.布尔教授200周年的诞辰纪念日。在布尔教授诞辰200周年的2015年里，UCC将举办一系列纪念的活动，会议以及展出来缅怀这位伟大的学者。

　　The George Boole 200 celebration kicks off this week with the Inaugural Lectures on the 5th February at 6.00pm in Boole 4 UCC. We are very keen to publicise this event around the world and to invite an audience to watch live online and to listen to the podcast afterwards. 　　To help us explain to the academic community and students, ICT industry, and the general public, just how Boole's work laid the foundations for the creation of the modern information age, we are delighted to have engaged as speakers Professor Muffy Calder OBE of the University of Glasgow, and Professor Alberto Sangiovanni Vincentelli of the University of California Berkeley. These internationally renowned scientific leaders will describe Boole's legacy in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering in an evening of lectures and discussion entitled George Boole 200 Inaugural Lectures.
